Christmas Countdown 25 Day Challenge: Day 22
A photo of you in the holiday spirit.
Um…*points to display picture* Well, that’s not from this year, but it’s the closest I’ve got at the moment. I don’t want to take up my parents’ bandwidth with uploading pictures and such. Perhaps later.
Regardless, I think an old picture of me in a beard and Santa hat is more or less par for the course. When decorating...

Christmas Countdown 25 Day Challenge: Day 21
Have you been drinking a lot of hot chocolate/coffee?
While I was still up at the university I was indulging in Peppermint Mochas from Starbucks waaaay too much. At the farm I’m drinking a lot of hot apple cider in an attempt to stave off the cold that everyone else has. Since my throat is sore and I’ve started coughing, I don’t think it worked.

Christmas Countdown 25 Day Challenge: Day 20
Christmas is just around the corner! Did you spent a lot of money?
Not really. Mostly because there was a glitch that led to me having no access to money for almost a month. But even then, there were only a few people on my “buy for” list.

Alright Guys
I’m outta here. I’m moving out of the dorms for the last time. For two weeks after that I will be out on a farm in southern Saskatchewan (a.k.a the middle of nowhere) and the only internet connection there is dial-up, so I’m not going to be online much (if at all) until I get moved into my place in the big scary city in Alberta.
So, until then, have fun doing what you do. Have a...

Christmas Countdown 25 Day Challenge: Day 19
It’s not midnight yet, but what the hell, I’m on a roll. So:
3 things you hope you get this Christmas.
1. Phone call/email from the boyfriend.
2. Gift cards for bookstores. Books are love, and giftcards won’t take much room in the vehicle when I move. Win.
3. Um, money, I guess. Sad, but I don’t know when I’ll find a job.

Christmas Countdown 25 Day Challenge: Day 18
One person you wish you could see this Christmas?
I guess it’s rather obvious that my answer to this is my boyfriend, Steve. He’s overseas for a year. Darn military, messing with my Christmas plans. Ah well. Anyway, I don’t want to get all soppy on here, so how about a brief anecdote instead?
When I first told my family about my boyfriend, my younger brother initially thought I...

Christmas Countdown 25 Day Challenge: Day 17
A photo of where you want to spend Christmas next year and why?
This one’s a bit difficult. I want to spend Christmas in 3 places: my parents’ farm, my boyfriend’s parents’ house, and our house. I don’t have a pictures of all three. Most likely Christmas Day will be spent at the, well, I’ll call them the in-laws, it’s easier. the reason being that Steve...

Christmas Countdown 25 Day Challenge: Day 16
What’s your favourite Christmas tradition?
I don’t know that we have any, really. Decorating the tree together is fun. Baking with Mom is, too. Other than that we more or less just hang out. It’s pretty low-key, but I like it that way.

You’re standing under the mistletoe. Who do you wish was there with you?
My boyfriend, I suppose. At the farm my Mom always puts up a mistletoe over the doorway from the porch into the rest of the house. We generally ignore it, but one Christmas…two years ago? I got “stuck” under the mistletoe and my niece insisted I couldn’t move until my boyfriend kissed me. Then...

Christmas Countdown 25 Day Challenge: Day 14
Did you enjoy last Christmas?
Yep I did. Classic family Christmas with my boyfriend at my parents’ farm, then we went to his parents for a few days as well. I suppose I could elaborate but there’s not a whole lot to say, really.

Who do you plan on buying gifts for and what will they be?
Just my boyfriend. I bought him a military history book and a print of a bison painting. I guess moving into his place and setting up Christmas decorations for when he comes home on leave at the end of January could count as well.

Christmas Countdown 25 Day Challenge: Day 12
What gift do you really want this Christmas?
I don’t have anything that I want particularly badly at the moment. My Christmas list doesn’t really have anything on it besides funds to keep me alive in the city until I find some way of generating income. Anything else is just another thing I have to find room for in the vehicle, which is already going to be right full of my crap, when I...

5 things you hate about Christmas
1. The extended family gathering. Well, hate is too strong a word. Uncomfortable would be more accurate. We do the big farm-family gathering on Boxing Day and while it was kind of fun as a kid (all of the cousins used to spen the afternoon/evening taking turns on my uncle’s SuperNintendo), as an adult the miasma of family political tensions just makes...

5 things you love about Christmas
I mentioned a few of these in earlier days, but let’s see.
1. Visiting my immediate family. I rarely see my older brother and his daughter, Christmas is one of the few occasions. My niece won’t be there this year, she’s staying with her mom, but my brother and his girlfriend will be down, so I’m excited. Plus it will be the last family...
